Organic Cotton: Gentle on the Earth, Soft on Your Skin

Despite the growth of synthetic fibres, good old cotton remains the most-worn material in the world - especially for t‑shirts. But not all cotton is made alike. How it is grown, harvested, and prepared shapes everything that follows, from the health of the soil to the feel of the shirt on your skin.
Most conventional cotton depends on heavy pesticide use, chemical fertilisers, and irrigation practices that drain water and strain ecosystems. It produces volume, yes - but at a cost quietly carried by the earth.
That’s why, for our tees, we choose 100% organic cotton.
Organic cotton is grown without harmful chemicals, using natural farming methods like composting, crop rotation, and beneficial insects instead of synthetic sprays. It protects the soil, encourages biodiversity, and supports farming communities with healthier working environments. It’s gentler, slower and - for the druids among you - more balanced.
But the benefits don’t stop at the farm.
Organic cotton is often grown in rain‑fed regions, using 50–91% less irrigation water compared to conventional cotton. Because the soil is healthier and richer in organic matter, it holds moisture longer - reducing the demand for artificial irrigation.
And because the fibres are never exposed to harsh chemicals, they remain smooth, strong, and naturally soft. This creates fabric that feels wonderful to wear - and also happens to be ideal for decoration.
We use Stanley/Stella blanks because they are leaders in ethical, certified production and share our commitment to high-quality, responsibly made garments. The makers spin their organic cotton into fine, long-staple yarns and knit it into smooth, combed fabrics. This clean, even surface is perfect for the direct-to-garment (DTG) printing that we use. That's why our colours are so vibrant, our lines so crisp, and our artwork looks as magical on the cloth as in your imagination.
So when you slip into one of our tees, you’re wearing more than a soft and comfortable statement piece. You’re wearing a garment crafted with respect at every stage - from seed to shirt, from soil to story.
By choosing organic cotton, you are supporting healthier ecosystems, fairer working conditions, transparent supply chains, and garments that honour both the world we live in and the worlds we love to explore.
May your quests be ever green,
Elowen
